Identity in Christ for Moms | Biblical Confidence, Freedom from Guilt, Healing from Shame, Closer with God
There is a yearning inside of you for a deep and meaningful relationship with God. You love Him, but not as much as you know you could. Or should.
You struggle with feelings of guilt because you know that often you’re just going through the motions rather than eagerly drinking from the well that never runs dry.
You go through spurts of motivation and excitement and then crash down on feelings of discouragement, apathy, or hopelessness.
I know what it’s like to feel just a little lost. A little bit stuck. Or even, just flat-out complacent.
I understand that the reality of mom life and the day-to-day tasks can get in the way of all our best intentions. I also know that sometimes it’s just sheer exhaustion that keeps us from moving forward and growing in the Word of God and in our faith.
God knows that motherhood is demanding. Yet He made a way for you to be a mom and have a vibrant spiritual life and connection with Him at the same time. He means for you to thrive in life, not merely get by.
Let me be that voice in your ear (literally and figuratively) pushing you forward. Encouraging you. Sharing stories of healing and victories. Reminding you of His amazing love and amazing grace.
And, maybe, giving you a swift kick in the pants to keep you going.
My name is Helen Siemens, and in this podcast, I want to talk to you like I would to a friend over a hot cup of coffee, reminding you of the truth you already know. Stirring you up to love and good works. Cheering you on as your sister in Christ, walking with you through spiritual growth and intentional living.

It's not only about what you do, but also the attitude with which you do it. Are you doing everything with excellence and as unto the Lord, or are you doing the bare minimum? Do you have a bad attitude about the work you do, or towards the people closest to you?
Let us keep in mind why we're here and Who we are doing all of this for. Let's move past the "bare minimum," or "Fine! I'll do it, but only because I have to" mindset and do all things heartily for our heavenly Father.
He will reward us accordingly.

Today's episode is really a heart to heart about the real difficulties of forgiving someone who has hurt you. It can be extremely hard when you've been hurt so very deeply. I've been there more times than I like to admit. Hurt, and especially when there's betrayal, can leave us vulnerable and doubting ourselves in ways that feel completely crushing. Sometimes, forgiveness seems impossible.
But God.
He makes a way. We don't have to do it in our own strength, and He can make beauty from ashes, though it usually doesn't happen overnight. Let me share with you the things that have helped me to step out of the bondage of unforgiveness and find freedom.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
There is, in actuality, nothing magical about January 1, and yet, we do feel a sense of newness and renewed hope that we can do better. That we can change and grow and improve our lives somehow. And that is what makes this a great time to start a 100 Day Challenge!
If you've never done one before, let me tell you, this can be a truly life-changing thing, and I don't say that to sound dramatic. I say it because it's made such a huge impact on my life and my faith, and I've heard many others say it's done great things for them as well.
I'd be so happy for you to join me! The start date is next Wednesday, January 10! Please come into my Facebook group and tell me what one thing you'd like to work on for 100 days.
I can't wait to do this with you!

It's that time! Time to sit down, think about the coming year, and make some plans. But if you're anything like me, New Year's resolutions just don't work for you. They may be fun to write down and sound great, but only in theory, and that's where they often tend to stay.
As someone who used to be completely unorganized and rather lazy, I can assure you that change is possible for all of us, no matter where we've come from or where we start.
In this episode, I'm sharing with you the things that have actually worked for me to see change and growth, and I'm confident they can help you too.

I get so. super. excited. when I start thinking about the New Year! It's always a time of a clean slate, fresh start kind of feeling and I absolutely love it!
But! Before we rush into that, there are a few things we can do first to help better set ourselves up for a great next year!
I've learned this the hard way and it's taken me many years to finally be able to look back on a year gone by and actually see some of the growth I was hoping for.
I want that for you too. For you to feel like you've made progress and are becoming more like the person you truly long to be.Let's start together. Right here. Right now. Today.
Orrrr right after the Christmas festivities are all cleaned up. I get it;)

If we want to truly grow in our walk with God, then, just as in any relationship, we need to put in the effort and invest the time. Sometimes, it's not for a lack of desire that we are not more consistent in our 'quiet times,' but it's more about a lack of strategic or proper planning.
Today, I'm sharing with you some very practical things you can do to eliminate the excuses, the distractions, and the interruptions and really get serious and committed to spending time in the Word of God and in prayer.

Are you happy with where you are in life right now? With who you are right now? Are you looking for change but need that 'One Thing' to make it happen? Is it possible that there is that one magical thing to make it all come to fruition? My short answer is "Yes, and."
But what is the key? Is there a secret?
Well, my answer to that is "No, but."
The truth is, it’s relatively simple but not as easy as we'd like. Let's talk about it!

What do you say when someone asks you to tell them about yourself? Do you share the same things you repeat to yourself every day? What do you think about yourself? I mean, what do you truly believe about who you are?
Are your thoughts about yourself good or bad? Truth or lies?
I'd love for you to grab a journal and honestly reflect on your answers to these questions. Then, search the scriptures to see who God is and what He says about who you are. The answers to these questions will, and do, largely affect how you live and what you do in this world.

There is no doubt that we were made for community and connection. Having friends and, especially, that one close friend to pour your heart out to is truly a gift. But sometimes, we can sabotage the friendship most dear to us without realizing we're doing it.
In today's episode, I'm sharing not as someone who has it all figured out, but rather as someone who has made the mistakes and learned the hard lessons (and continues to learn). I've managed to put a lot of unnecessary stress on relationships that began as something beautiful. I've also seen God transform those relationships and make them whole again.
I believe that friendships are one of God's greatest gifts to us. I hope you are experiencing the fullness of that gift.

You want it, right? That closeness with the Lord. To walk in wisdom. To be spiritually minded and walk in step with the Spirit rather than walking in the flesh. But life gets in the way, and so you continue as you were.
But it's like they say, nothing changes if nothing changes.
It took me an embarrassingly long time to learn this one lesson, but I am not exaggerating when I tell you that it changed a lot for me, and I genuinely believe that it can do the same for you!
So glad you're here.
