You Don’t Fit In Podcast | Identity in Christ, Biblical Confidence, Freedom from Guilt, Healing from Shame, Closer with God

There is a yearning inside of you for a deep and meaningful relationship with God. You love Him, but not as much as you know you could. Or should.

You struggle with feelings of guilt because you know that often you’re just going through the motions rather than eagerly drinking from the well that never runs dry.

You go through spurts of motivation and excitement and then crash down on feelings of discouragement, apathy, or hopelessness.

I know what it’s like to feel just a little lost. A little bit stuck. Or even, just flat-out complacent.

I understand that the reality of mom life and the day-to-day tasks can get in the way of all our best intentions. I also know that sometimes it’s just sheer exhaustion that keeps us from moving forward and growing in the Word of God and in our faith.

God knows that motherhood is demanding. Yet He made a way for you to be a mom and have a vibrant spiritual life and connection with Him at the same time. He means for you to thrive in life, not merely get by.

Let me be that voice in your ear (literally and figuratively) pushing you forward. Encouraging you. Sharing stories of healing and victories. Reminding you of His amazing love and amazing grace.

And, maybe, giving you a swift kick in the pants to keep you going.

My name is Helen Siemens, and in this podcast, I want to talk to you like I would to a friend over a hot cup of coffee, reminding you of the truth you already know. Stirring you up to love and good works. Cheering you on as your sister in Christ, walking with you through spiritual growth and intentional living.

Are you truly aligned with your God given identity, or have you grown comfortable in patterns that are slowly pulling you out of alignment?
This episode will help you examine where you may be coasting instead of growing, staying silent instead of speaking truth, or choosing ease over faithfulness. Alignment is not about becoming someone new. It is about returning to who you were created to be.
This conversation will challenge you to realign your life with God’s design and measure your growth not by how safe you feel, but by how faithful you are becoming.

You love God. You know the truth. You believe what Scripture says about who you are. And yet your heart still races in social settings. You still overthink conversations. You still feel small, exposed, or insecure around other people. It can feel confusing and even discouraging when your lived experience does not seem to match your theology.
In this episode, we talk about how social anxiety often reveals deeper fears and false beliefs that conflict with your identity in Christ. We look at why social anxiety is usually rooted in fear, not weakness, and how past trauma, instability, or painful experiences can shape your nervous system in ways that continue to affect your body and mind today. Anxiety is not simply a lack of faith. Often, it is a learned response that needs renewal at the root.
You will learn what it truly means to renew your mind from a biblical perspective. Renewing your mind is not just knowing Scripture or quoting verses. It is allowing God to transform your belief system, challenge the lies you have accepted about yourself, and rebuild your thinking around truth. We walk through how to identify the false narratives you are believing about your worth, and how to replace those lies with truth grounded in your identity in Christ.
Real confidence is not built in one single breakthrough moment. It grows through daily obedience, renewal, and choosing truth over fear again and again. If you are tired of asking why you still struggle with social anxiety, this conversation will help you understand what is happening beneath the surface and show you a biblical path toward freedom.

Your heart starts racing before you even walk into the room. Your chest feels tight. Your stomach knots up. You feel the dread of being in social settings before anything has even happened. When you struggle with social anxiety, your body often reacts first. It becomes hard to stay present in conversations when your nervous system feels like it is in danger. Social anxiety does not just affect one moment. It affects your relationships, your confidence, your ability to connect, and even how you see yourself.
If you have ever searched for how to deal with social anxiety, natural anxiety relief, or how to calm anxiety in social situations, you know how exhausting it can feel to live in this cycle. The physical symptoms of anxiety are real. The tension in your body is real. But it does not have to stay this way.
I did not set out looking for a remedy for anxiety per se. I simply started one small daily practice that is now changing how I experience social situations. This is slowly retraining my nervous system, reducing my anxiety symptoms, and helping me feel calmer and more present in social settings in ways I did not expect.
If you want practical tools for anxiety and a natural way to calm your mind, this episode will walk you through what I am doing and how you can start today.

This episode is a reminder that God sees you and loves you. There is rest for you, even in the busyness of life and motherhood. And you are not alone in this season.

We have all done it.
You feel the nudge to say yes. Or to say no.You feel the pull to speak up. Or to stay quiet.
And deep down, you already know what the right thing is.
So why is it so hard to do it?
Often, it's not confusion.It's fear.
In this episode, I talk about how people pleasing quietly takes the place of true worship. How it disguises itself as humility, service, or being nice, while slowly shifting our focus off of God and onto ourselves.
We look at how fear of people shows up in everyday decisions. The yes we did not mean to give. The gift we keep hidden. The obedience we avoid because we do not want to be seen, judged, or misunderstood.
If you find yourself managing approval more than trusting God, this episode will help you see what's really happening and how to begin redirecting your worship back where it belongs.

If you’ve ever felt discouraged because your growth feels slow…
If you’ve wondered whether your small efforts even matter…

What do you do when you don’t like who you are? When you look at your life, your choices, or your habits and feel disappointed or ashamed? Most of us try to “fix ourselves” by striving harder, proving ourselves, or chasing approval from people who will never be able to give us what our hearts truly desire.
In today’s episode, we’re talking about what the Bible really says about identity, self-worth, and God’s love, and why true transformation should never start from a place of self-rejection.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, ashamed, or simply longing for change, this episode will help you look honestly at where you are, and rest in the truth that God meets you with compassion, not condemnation.

What does the Bible really teach about self-talk, mindset, and your identity in Christ? And how do you begin taking biblical steps to replace destructive thoughts with life-giving truth and speak hope over yourself and your circumstances?
In today’s episode, we’re talking about the biblical power of words, why Scripture says life and death are in the tongue, and how the way you speak (even about yourself!) can either build your life or tear it down.
Whether you struggle with discouragement, negative thinking, emotional overwhelm, or old patterns of self-defeating language, this conversation will help you step into godly thinking, renewed confidence, and a Christ-centered identity.
